Addressing a Regional Crisis
As digital adoption grows, so does the sophistication of online fraud. Scams affecting everyday users now range from fake online shops and phishing SMS to complex investment and job scams. UNODC report from September 2024 estimated that organized criminal networks engaged in cyber-enabled fraud generate between $27.4 and $36.5 billion annually across 10 Southeast Asian countries. Victims suffer not only significant financial losses but also emotional distress and a loss of trust in digital services. To contribute to the national and regional efforts to fight online scams and frauds, MDP has developed an AI tool to help everyone from falling prey to scammers.

The system provides a clear verdict based on a risk scoring logic:
Low Risk (0-20 points): Safe to proceed.
Suspicious (21-60 points): Proceed with caution.
High Risk (61+ points): Likely a scam, with guidance on how to avoid it.
